A fresh and informative website is a great way to share what’s happening at Wohnen+ Basel and attract new members. With help from our communication agency, richtblick, we are proud to launch our new and improved site.
Part of the grant money awarded to W+ B by Age Stiftung in 2019 was earmarked to document how the grant helps our Verein achieve its goals. W+ B engaged richtblick to help us produce this Dokumentation.

The new Blogs page has posts on ideas and developments of interest to us and other housing cooperatives. These include maintaining quality of life, downsizing, reducing our carbon footprint and living in a community of neighbors.
If you have an item of news or a topic that fits the blog profile, please get in touch with the Communications Sub-Committee at wohnenplusbasel@gmail.com. We’ll work with you to develop a short item and post it for all to see.
…and so back to richtblick. For the next few years, we will continue to work closely with their team. As Switzerland cautiously takes steps to get people’s lives back to normal, for a much-needed technical training session we decided to switch from Zoom conferences – instead opting for an in-person meeting at the richtblick offices in Frauenfeld. As you can see, it was a friendly and productive day!

Open House – 16 October 10.00 – 16.00, Offices of wohnen und mehr, Westfeld 2, 4055 Basel.
The goal of this open day is to showcase our Community and the flats that we will be occupying after our move-in date next year. Visitors will be able to inform themselves about life in Westfeld as well as the additional benefits of being a
W+ B member.
We will highlight flats that are still available, and we are now also able to provide more information than ever before about fixtures & fittings and how we will make use of our Common Room and balcony areas.
Please feel free to come along and have a chat over a cup of coffee. We would love to see you!
23 October Walk for members and friends of W+ B – along the Rhine from Basel’s Wettsteinplatz to the Power Station Island in Birsfelden. You can find full details here in English or German. If you would like to join, please register with Andrew Craven or Doris Vogt.
Common Room Committee – a presentation to W+ B members will be held 6 November to share ideas for the design of how we can put this unique Verein space to the best uses. They will also discuss how to collect contribution ideas from members. More details to follow.
Planning for more storage – we decided to set up a Closet Committee following requests from some members to have cupboards or other storage space professionally installed in bedrooms. The Committee’s first meeting on 11 October will plan approaches to a number of suppliers for designs and prices. At a later date, possible solutions will be presented to members as options for their flats.
