Earlier this week, a curious group of friends took part in Dorothea and Doris’ latest Walk ‘n’ Talk. It could be better described as an ‘experience & conversation’ excursion, since there was almost no walking but a large amount of talk and discussion. Why? Because this first event in the 2025 calendar was a visit to the current exhibition at the Lenzburger Stapferhaus.
“Health First. An Interactive Exhibition with Guaranteed Side Effects”
Only 45 minutes by train from Basel, and standing proudly opposite the town’s railway station, the Lenzburg Stapferhaus is an exciting, interactive exhibition space that takes and entertaining look at the big questions of the present and future.
Under the subtitle that nothing is more important than your health, the exhibition took our group on a self-guided tour beginning with the first medical instruments developed to bring objectivity to patient diagnosis and treatment. These items that have long since become indispensable standard tools in modern day healthcare practice and included thermometers, stethoscopes and early x-ray tubes.
Moving on, the group saw videos of surgical procedures, learnt about alternative medical techniques and listened to medical experts discussing not just how far we have come, but also addressing issues where much work is still needed.
If you missed the W+ B tour but would still like to visit, note that the exhibition will remain at the Stapferhaus until October this year.
